CHRP Ann Arbor Hub
Principal Investigator
Dr. Lin is an addiction psychiatrist, an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry, and Research Scientist at the Ann Arbor VA. She is also the Co-Director of MI-ACRE and directs the UM Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Her research focuses on improving access to high quality addiction care, by identifying disparities and making high quality care available to communities and health systems.
"At the end of my career, I don’t want to just say, ‘I’ve published a lot of papers.’ What we work towards is improving care for people in the real-world, who need it NOW.”
Hub Champion
Andrew has a master’s degree in social work. Through out his career he has worked at various settings of substance use disorder care, including inpatient and outpatient settings, CCBHC clinics, court mandated programs, and harm reduction programs. In his free time, he is an avid reader, cat owner, and novice gardener.
“I came of age during the first overdose epidemic in the mid 2000’s. I have watched for decades now, friends, family and clients succumb to overdoses. I joined the CHRP team because I believe in the work they are doing and want to re-create some of the successes I’ve had in previous roles, with rural healthcare providers across Michigan.”
Project Manager
Deb has a master’s degree in social work. She has worked in both patient care and research settings supporting patients in areas including substance use, acute illness, death and loss, Veteran needs, organ transplantation, and patient empowerment and advocacy. Deb enjoys having mini adventures in her community and carving out time for lazy Sundays with her family and dogs.
“I am proud to be a part of a research group that prioritizes patients’ voices to shape the path forward. Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. We need flexible addiction care approaches to meet patients where they’re at – not where we want them to be.”
Research Technician
Jessie holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has worked on many studies aiming to improve access to addiction care. She particularly enjoys engaging with community members to inform project development and implementation. When she’s not working, Jessie spends her time with friends and family (including her cat, Coconut).
“I take pride in the fact that every day, I get to work with a like-minded group of people all dedicated to improving access to addiction care. I hope that the increased awareness and education around substance use disorders that our team promotes will result in all the more folks being able to receive the high-quality care they deserve.”
Communications and Dissemination Specialist
Lisa has a master's degree in health education and community health. Throughout her career she's worked in clinical research at UCLA, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan. She’s happiest when she’s out on a hiking trail, re-connecting with nature.
"In addiction care I believe healing begins with connection. I hope to be a helping hand to those who feel unseen - because we've all needed help at some point and no one should have to find their way alone."
